ICSI Field Trip, Fall Semester
What is your impression for the Northern East Taiwan?
Notice:
1. Only the first registered 60 students will get the acceptance owing to the limited budget for field trip.
2. The field trip is free to join, but some of the charges for the itinerary/meals will not be refunded on the day. In case of abense which results in the buget waste, a deposit of NTD 1,000/person will be required in advance for those accepted. It will be refunded to the student upon his/her showing up on the day of the event.
3. Notice in general will be provided at least 1 week before the event, please do check your e-mail account left for the registration.
It is an area of various natural resources from both the ocean and the mountains due to its location.
In the field trip this time,
we are leading you to searching for the treasure hidden.
Date: Nov. 17th, Friday.
Time: 8:15AM-6:00PM
Site: Heping Island Geological Park, Keelung &
Jinshan Township, New Taipei City
Number of participants: a maximum of 60 students.
We will visit Heping Island Geological Park in the morning.
Heping Island is the earliest developed area of Keelung,
and it is right next to the ocean with rocks of various shapes,
which has the breathtaking view when the weather is fine.
We will have a short outdoor walk to discover the amazing landscapes there
and make use of sea wastes to create a handmade craft
as an unique souvenir of your own.
The lunch of the day would be a self-guided tour in Jinshan Old street.
You can wander along the streets and
try the traditional typical Taiwanese snacks along the way,
experiencing the local vitality of life there.
In the afternoon, a visit to a local old rice cake shop is arranged.
Every participants would get the materials for making the rice cakes with the instruction by the shop owner,
exploring the magic of food processing.
We will also have a short hiking in Shitoushan Park near the beautiful seashore line of Jinshan Township.
A panorama of the ocean is definitely a view you will not miss during the walk.
