Dr. Yu will share insights on how regenerative tourism can create more socially equitable and sustainable communities, drawing from his extensive research and international academic experience.

Speaker introduction
Dr. Hungchih "Alvin" Yu is an assistant professor with over a decade of experience in higher education and more than three years in the tourism industry. His work focuses on the intersection of tourism, event management, and their societal impacts. Currently serving at Central Connecticut State University, he has held faculty and leadership roles at St. Cloud State University and George Mason University. Dr. Yu’s research portfolio includes extensive studies on festival branding, the economic impacts of regional tourism, and the application of intelligent chatbots to mitigate travel anxiety. A Certified Hospitality Educator, he has secured numerous grants to support community visitor profiling and travel information operations. In addition to his research, he is deeply committed to global education, having directed study-away programs and established international articulation agreements. Dr. Yu holds a Ph.D. in Leisure Studies from Pennsylvania State University.
